Programme Structure
The B.Ed. programme is spread over two academic years comprising four semesters. Each semester combines core theory courses, pedagogy (method subjects), and practical school-based experiences. The programme follows the NCTE Curriculum Framework 2015.
Year 1 — Semester I (July–November)
Foundation courses in child development, contemporary education, learning theory, and language across the curriculum. Students are introduced to their chosen method subjects and begin school observation visits.
Year 1 — Semester II (January–May)
Courses in knowledge and curriculum, assessment for learning, and inclusive education. Students begin Pedagogy of Method Subject I and undertake School Internship I — a structured block teaching practice in partner schools.
Year 2 — Semester III (July–November)
Advanced pedagogy of Method Subject II, elective enhancement courses (EPC), and the extended School Internship II — the core practical component of the programme involving sustained classroom teaching, lesson planning, and school community engagement.
Year 2 — Semester IV (January–May)
Courses in gender and education, drama and art in education, and critical ICT. Students complete an Action Research project or dissertation, and sit for the final university examinations.
